When the Convent de Sant Andreu began to imagine its future
In November 2022, the newspaper SEGRE reported one of the first stories about the future of the Convent de Sant Andreu, in Sant Guim Vell, shortly after Shoot Estudios acquired this historic complex with the aim of restoring it and giving it a new life.
The article explained that the former Jesuit convent, with more than 2,500 m², was being planned as a future rural hotel with around ten rooms, a swimming pool in the garden and great potential as a space for film shoots, photography, events and cultural projects.
That was one of the first public steps of a project that is now already underway. Since then, the initial idea has continued to grow and take shape: recovering a place full of history, preserving its heritage character and turning it into a unique space linked to creativity, the territory and new rural experiences.
The report also highlighted the historical value of the complex, made up of the former convent, the castle ruins and the adjoining church, and pointed out the importance of taking action to halt its deterioration.
Looking back and recovering this first appearance in the press is especially meaningful to us, because it reminds us of the starting point of an adventure that began almost as an intuition, or a beautiful madness, depending on the day, and that little by little is becoming a reality.
